Chelsea’s strategy for the remainder of the 2025–26 season could be totally different under Liam Rosenier, after sacking Enzo Maresca mid-season. The new manager seems to be having a positive effect, with the team registering consecutive wins in their last four matches.

Injuries have hurt Chelsea throughout the season. Due to this, the management has already been focusing on bringing key individuals to strengthen their defensive areas alongside the midfield. However, still no improvements have been made this month.

With only a few days remaining before the transfer window closes, Chelsea seem to be making a move for an Englishman. According to Fichajes, the English club plans to spend a staggering €150 million to convince Real Madrid to part with Jude Bellingham, who is their top target in midfield.

Chelsea prepare record offer as midfield reinforcements needed

The 23-year-old midfielder was phenomenal for Real Madrid in his debut season, helping them to Champions League glory. However, things do not always remain the same, and a downturn in form has not gone unnoticed due to constant managerial changes. The Blues appear to believe this could be the perfect time to make an approach.

Nonetheless, the Blues are realistically approaching the need to strengthen their midfield, as from the beginning of the season, they have faced injuries to Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo, which have limited their options alongside Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.

Moreover, Cole Palmer’s constant fitness issues have caused another headache. This is where Bellingham’s brilliance could make a difference in Chelsea’s midfield.

Although it remains to be seen whether the Spanish giants will agree to a deal at this price, or any, to let go of one of their assets. In the past, we have seen Real Madrid sanctioning exits of key players like Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil, Casemiro, Raphael Varane amongst many others.
