Since joining Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo has been searching for a way to win the Saudi title. This season might present him with the best chance of ending that wait. Former Barcelona man Joao Felix’s addition seems to have transformed the team. He has scored 8 goals already in the league and they currently sit atop the table, having won all five of their games.
Of course, there is a long way to go in the title race but Al-Nassr fans must be getting excited about this campaign. And things could get even better in the future with another superstar being linked with a move to Ronaldo’s side.
The Portuguese icon wants a Barcelona superstar to join him. According to Fichajes, Al-Nassr could be negotiating Robert Lewandowski’s arrival at the express request of Ronaldo.
Lewandowski’s time at Barcelona has been longer than many would have expected, as he joined the Catalan giants around his mid-30s. He has been a key part of the club’s plans since then though, helping them win a couple of La Liga titles during that period of time. But recent reports have suggested that this could be the Pole’s last season at Camp Nou.
Could Lewandowski join Ronaldo at Al-Nassr when he leaves Barcelona?
What would a combination of Ronaldo and Lewandowski look like? Of course, both are in the twilight of their careers and are primarily goalscorers. That could create an issue.
That being said, Ronaldo did enjoy tremendous success while playing with Karim Benzema during their time together at Real Madrid. So, in the right system, it would definitely work.
Any Lewandowski exit is quite some distance away in the future though. So, it might be worth focusing on the present. Barcelona have a lot to play for this season, both domestically and in Europe. If they are to find success, one suspects the Pole will have a big part in that.
