It has been seven years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid but as it seems his aura still lingers in the Spanish capital. The Los Blancos legend is still regarded highly by the Bernabeu faithful and his achievements with the club speaks for themselves.

Ronaldo scored 450 goals in 438 appearances in the Royal White shirt while winning the coveted UEFA Champions league four times for the club. He’s also Real Madrid’s top scorer having scored 96 goals more than Karim Benzema who sits second in the all time scorers list.

The 40-year-‘young’ superstar is still the man to beat in Madrid as not only the fans but also the players who currently play at the legendary club look up to him as a role model and also a benchmark.

One such player is Real Madrid’s current main man, Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman is known to be a Ronaldo fanboy since his childhood as his iconic photograph with the Portuguese legend’s pictures in the background is still available in the internet to see.

In a recent interview with Movistar, the Real Madrid number 10 only had praises for Cristiano as he said, “Cristiano Ronaldo has always been a role model for me”, Mbappe also added, “I’m lucky enough to talk to him, he gives me advice, he helped me. I think in Madrid he’s still the number one. He’s still the reference point for Real Madrid players, who’s done a lot. The fans still dream about Cristiano but I want to follow my own path.”

Mbappe scored a staggering 44 goals in his debut season with Los Blancos and has scored 14 times this season already and is already a fan favourite amongst the Bernabeu faithful.

The Madrid fans had to wait patiently for the Frenchman’s arrival but since he put on the Los Blancos shirt, Mbappe hasn’t failed to deliver for his club but for him to be considered a Real Madrid legend by the fans, the 26-year-old would need to convert those brilliant performances into trophies which he and his teammates failed to do last season.
