Chelsea injury update : Player set to return against Nottingham Forest

Chelsea and injuries have been synonymous since the start of the season as players like Liam Delap and Levi Colwill have been ruled out for a long period and minor injuries to players are like daily morning news to the Blues fans.

To be specific it feels like as if the Blues’ defensive lineup is currently dealing with a injury curse as Josh Acheampong, Benoît Badiashile and Reece James are dealing with minor injuries which is a worrying sign for manager Enzo Maresca as Champions league football is set to resume after the international break where they faced Dutch side Ajax at Stanford Bridge.

Their main man Cole Palmer has also been struggling with a groin injury since September and is expected to return to training before the end of the international break.

Amidst all this the Blues have recieved a major injury boost as defender Wesley Fofana began training with the rest of the squad in Cobham after recovering from a concussion injury picked up during Chelsea’s Carabao Cup game against Lincoln.

As per the concussion return rules the 24-year-old had to be rested for 12 days before he could return to training which is now over for the Frenchman as he completed a full training session alongside his teammates and is expected to be fit for selection against Nottingham Forest after the international break.

Both Acheampong and Badiashile are expected to return to full fitness before the game on 18th which will be a major boost for Chelsea’s recent defensive problems.

The Blues will have to play three games in a span of eight days after the international as a result Maresca would need his best players during those games in order to stay in the hunt of winning championships at the end of the season and the news of the returning players will definitely be a major morale booster for everyone around the club.
