Real Madrid had a fantastic summer transfer window as they brought in reinforcements like Franco Mastantuano, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras in order to make the squad stronger for the grueling season ahead.

Undoubtedly Los Blancos manager Xabi Alonso will have a lot to choose from as options are of plenty at the moment but at the same time it also poses a tough task for the manager to keep everyone happy inside the dressing room.

Although Alonso’s squad rotation has seen almost the whole roster getting their well deserved minutes as last season’s outcast Dani Ceballos was also included in the starting 11 against Villarreal last weekend. But this wasn’t the case during the Club World Cup in the states as Real Madrid forward Rodrygo was seen as a player who was falling out of favour and speculations of his move away from the bernabeu started building up.

Real Madrid forward rejected offers from Premier League clubs during the summer

According to Diaro AS‘s recent interview with the Brazilian international (via Football Espana), the forward admitted that he had offers from various clubs during the summer saying, “The same thing happens to me every summer. Will I leave, I get offers from this or that club. Every week I was in a different team if I paid attention to what was published. Of course, there are always offers; I’m not going to lie about that.”

Premier league giants such as Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool had eyes on the 24-year-old but the youngster decided to fight for his position in Madrid and as the club also wanted him to continue donning the Royal White shirt.

Rodrygo also talked about his relationship with the club saying, “I’ve always said: ‘As long as Real Madrid wants me, I’ll be here.’ If one day Real Madrid says to me: ‘Rodry, find a team,’ I’ll say ‘OK.’ But that hasn’t happened. The club has always told me they count on me. And when I had a problem, they were there for me.”

One cannot deny the fact that Rodrygo has been pivotal in Los Blancos’ recent triumphs and Real would definitely want the winger to stay at the club during his prime days but for a player of his calibre, game time would be the deciding factor on wether the Brazilian would start looking at other options or not.
