Real Madrid registered a fantastic 3-1 victory against Villarreal yesterday which took Los Blancos to the top of La Liga as Vinicius Junior scored a brace and Kylian Mbappe added his 14th goal in all competitions for Madrid.
Although Barcelona could go one point clear with a win against Sevilla later today but the Real’s victory yesterday will give them a much needed morale boost before going into the international break.
International games evidently brings a worry for a manager of any club around the world as players often get injured during these matches but for Xabi Alonso, injury concerns have arrived a bit early as we saw their talismanic Frenchman Kylian Mbappe hobbling off the bernabeu pitch yesterday in the 83rd minute of the game.
With Mbappe scoring more than half of Madrid’s goals this season, the 26 year old’s injury would be a serious concern for everyone around the club as he is seen as the main man for Alonso’s Real Madrid this season.

However according to DAZN’s Sergio Quirante (Via GOAL), the Frenchman felt good as Quirante said, “”It’s not serious, just a knock to the ankle. He feels good. He’ll most likely travel with France.”
Franco Mastantuano also had to taken off as he a faced minor hamstring tear during yesterday’s game which is also a matter of concern for Alonso as the International fixtures knock on the door.
With Argentina playing two friendly games, Mastantuano could be given some time off but the French will be facing Azerbaijan and Iceland in their World Cup qualifying fixtures and Didier Deschamps would definitely want Mbappe to be a part of those two games.
Alonso was also a bit conservative during his interview with Real Madrid TV as he said, “Kylian was already having ankle discomfort, and we’ll see. Franco has a hamstring strain. We’ll see how they progress with the national teams,”
With Champions league football at the end of this month, Los Blancos fans would like their attacking duo to be fit when they play Juventus after the international break.
