Liverpool’s injury troubles are nothing new, especially in the defensive part of things. This season as well, they have continued to suffer, as Geovanni Leonni unfortunately picked up an injury in his debut matchup and will be out for a long period.

As reported by Fichajes (via Anfield Index), the club have identified César Tárrega as a potential candidate. The report further claimed that the Spanish club have set a price tag of around 50 million euros for the player.

The 23-year-old is one of the main and future stars of Los Che, and the Valencia reportedly have no plans to part ways, having recently extended his contract until 2030. This makes it far from an easy purchase for the Reds.
Additionally, the Spaniard has also been eyed by clubs like Newcastle United and Sunderland, along with both the Madrid giants, during the previous transfer window.
Liverpool could face some serious threats defending their Premier League title, especially if the injury crisis escalates as they go deeper into the season. However, there’s nothing much the club can do at this very hour. They will have to wait until at least the winter transfer window for any player movements to happen.
For now, the club have three fit centre-backs in the form of Virgil van Dijk, Konaté, and Gomez. There’s not much to talk about regarding their qualities, as they are among the best in the business. It remains to be seen how they will manage the pressure as the season progresses.
