Manchester City are known for having a keen eye when it comes to identifying young talents. Whether it’s current players like Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, or Jeremy Doku, or legends like Kevin De Bruyne, the club has always chosen some of the best for the team.

In the last transfer window, Manchester City also brought in players such as Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Gianluigi Donnarumma, among others. Each of them has settled in well, with a few like Reijnders and Donnarumma making an immediate impact.

Now, with the summer transfer window barely out of the rearview mirror, Manchester City have already started planning their next moves for the future. And it seems the Citizens have once again turned their attention to Paris Saint-Germain.

French outlet Jeunes Footeux (via TeamTalk) have reported that City are planning their next signing from the Champions League holders and are eyeing 19-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery.

Pep Guardiola has identified Zaire-Emery as one of his ‘dream targets’ this summer and still remains eager to work with the youngster at the Etihad. Meanwhile, after becoming aware of Manchester City’s interest in the French midfielder, PSG have set his asking price at a huge €100 million (£87m).

Zaire-Emery has successfully established himself as a key part of Luis Enrique’s squad. The 19-year-old has featured in all five of PSG’s Ligue 1 matches this season, starting in three of them.

The French international primarily plays in a central midfield role but is also capable of operating as a defensive midfielder or even at right-back.

With Mateo Kovacic and Rodri both dealing with injury concerns lately, Zaire-Emery could be a valuable addition to Manchester City’s roster. That said, a €100 million price tag for a 19-year-old may prove to be a sticking point in negotiations.

Nevertheless, Pep Guardiola has bigger concerns to address at the moment. The club currently sits ninth in the table with just two wins. Things will need to pick up quickly, or the Citizens could be facing a difficult season ahead.
