FC Barcelona have been dealing with a few injury problems lately. As they trail Real Madrid by a couple of points in the La Liga title race, they will be keen to return to full strength as soon as possible.
There is good news for them in this regard. It looks like Hansi Flick has been handed not one, but two injury boosts in quick succession.
The first is Alejandro Balde, who has been dealing with a muscle issue in recent weeks, having picked up the injury in training. According to SPORT, he rejoined the group this Tuesday morning to test himself out with the rest of her teammates. He obviously won’t be available for their trip to Oviedo this week.
In the absence of Balde, Gerard Martin has stepped into the left-back spot and felt completely at home there. So, Barcelona have not really missed the starter.
Another Barcelona player returns from injury alongside Alejandro Balde
Balde is not the only one back on the grass. The other is someone who has not made a senior appearance for Barcelona yet.
But considering what we saw in pre-season, it is only a matter of time before he makes his debut, and once he does, do not expect to see him slip away from the first-team picture. According to Gerard Romero, Dro Fernandez has recovered and is back.
Fernandez was a standout performer for Barcelona in pre-season and it felt like he was on the verge of breaking into the first-team but suffered an injury while playing for the Athletic side recently. It is good to see that he has quickly recovered.
These injury boosts are not expected to have an effect on Barcelona’s upcoming game against Real Oviedo. It is an important one as Flick’s side look to keep up pace with Real Madrid in the title race.
