Tottenham Hotspur had been busy in the summer transfer window to reinforce their squad by bringing in quality players. The club have successfully secured the services of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, among others. PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani has also joined on a season-long loan.

Anyway, the transfer window is behind us and the season is well underway, with Tottenham starting their campaign on the right footing under new coach Thomas Frank. The club are currently sitting in third position, having won four of their seven matches so far. If early indications are anything to go by, the Lilywhites are in for a great campaign.

Meanwhile, as the Tottenham players focus on doing their best on the pitch, the club management is busy keeping tabs on potential future signings. And it looks like that has taken them to Glasgow. That is according to TeamTalk, who have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to express interest in signing Rangers and Belgium ace Nicolas Raskin.

With the expected cost at £20–25 million, a potential move could set a new transfer record at Ibrox, as the current record stands at £19.6 million for Calvin Bassey’s transfer to Ajax in July 2022.

Tottenham Hotspur eyeing record-breaking move for Belgian youngster

Raskin joined Rangers in January 2023 for a fee of just €1.5 million. Since then, the youngster has quickly developed into one of the key players for the Scottish giants.

This season, Raskin has appeared in 14 matches, scoring one goal and providing four assists. The 24-year-old can operate in the number 10 role as well as in a defensive midfield position, in addition to his primary role as a central midfielder.

The youngster’s contract with Rangers is set to expire in 2027. Apart from Tottenham, Premier League clubs like Wolves and Crystal Palace are also interested in the player, so it won’t be an easy task to secure Raskin’s signature.

That said, Spurs are undoubtedly the most attractive option of the three, especially with the team looking likely to qualify for the Champions League once again based on their recent performances. It remains to be seen where Raskin eventually ends up if he indeed leaves Rangers.
