Manchester United are finally playing some good football after a very long time. The Red Devils are now unbeaten in their last four matches, winning three of them. They have also beaten some of the best teams in the Premier League this season, including league title defenders Liverpool and world champions Chelsea.

In the last transfer window, Manchester United brought in several new stars including Bryan Mbuemo, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha, and these changes seem to be paying off. However, a number of players have also left the club.

Among them are two major signings former manager Erik ten Hag made during his tenure, Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana, both of whom are currently on loan at Napoli and Trabzonspor respectively. Reports have now emerged suggesting that one of them may not be part of the club’s long-term plans and could leave permanently next year.

According to Metro, former Manchester United player and three-time title winner Lee Sharpe said he would be “very surprised” if Onana played another game for United. This comes especially after the encouraging start new goalkeeper Senne Lammens has had at Old Trafford. Sharpe stated:

“Senne Lammens looks to have made that position his own now, and I don’t think Onana would want to come back and play second fiddle. I think we’ve seen the end of Onana at Old Trafford.”

Manchester United player tipped to never play for the club again

Manchester United brought in Onana for a fee of €50.20 million after his incredible season with Inter Milan. However, things haven’t gone his way in England.

The 29-year-old produced several poor performances in goal for Manchester United, costing the team vital games. His statistics at the club further highlight this, as Onana has managed to keep just 24 clean sheets in 102 appearances in all competitions.

Nevertheless, Manchester United’s goalkeeping situation has been uncertain ever since they let go of David De Gea, and no one has quite filled his shoes. Lammens, who was signed for £18 million in the summer, has been performing well, and if things continue this way, he might be the main man in goal for Manchester United going forward. Unfortunately for Onana, it may be time for him to move on.
