Manchester United are off to one of their best starts to the season in recent times. They are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matchups and are just one point off the top four. The new arrivals have settled in well and are on the same wavelength as the veterans, who finally seem to be on the same page. The defense is solid, the midfield is creative and strong, and the attacking display is clinical.

Meanwhile, the majority of Manchester United’s players are currently away playing for their nations. Among them, Brazilian international Casemiro has impressed with his performance for his nation recently. By the looks of it, the five-time Champions League winner is regaining his best form and Ruben Amorim will be delighted.

That said, Casemiro’s future at Manchester United is far from secured, with his contract expiring in 2027 and no extension in sight. As a result, the club seems to have already started shortlisting candidates who could replace the Brazilian, and that has taken the Red Devils back to Casemiro’s former club, Real Madrid.

Manchester United interested in €100m Real Madrid midfielder

According to DefensaCentral, Manchester United are interested in signing €100 million Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

There’s little doubt that Casemiro is one of the best defensive midfielders of this generation, and his records prove that. However, his Manchester United career has been far from perfect, and the Brazilian is currently 33 years old, so he isn’t a long-term solution for the club.

Tchouameni could be a solid replacement for Casemiro. The Frenchman will reportedly cost €90-100 million if a transfer were to materialize. However, it seems unlikely that Real Madrid would let him leave, especially considering his emergence as one of the most important players in Xabi Alonso’s squad.

Therefore, Manchester United may have to explore other candidates, as this transfer hardly seems feasible in the near future. That said, the Red Devils had previously signed Raphael Varane and Casemiro from Real Madrid when they were at their peak form. So, a move cannot be completely ruled out either.
