After a flying start to the season, Liverpool seem a bit doubtful with their recent performances, suffering four consecutive losses across all competitions. Although the team have previously enjoyed successful runs under Arne Slot, questions are now being raised about the Premier League-winning manager as well.

Despite welcoming some of the world’s best talents during the recent summer transfer window, the synchronisation with Slot’s tactics hasn’t been fully established, with many players yet to unlock their full potential.

Amid these challenges, Liverpool might be nearing the end of Mohamed Salah’s legendary run with the club. Although he recently extended his deal until 2027, his performance levels have dipped at the beginning of this season, recording just 3 goals and 3 assists in 12 appearances across all competitions so far.

Those would be decent numbers for most wingers but for Salah, those are concerning stats, and at 33, has he entered his downward trajectory?

While the Reds still have a decent option in Federico Chiesa, they might soon run out of alternatives if injuries strike hard. With Salah’s form becoming a concern, signing a long-term successor has become crucial.

Liverpool and Salah Struggles Spark Interest in Antoine Semenyo

According to The i Paper, Liverpool believe Antoine Semenyo could be a long-term replacement for Salah. They are considering a January transfer for the Bournemouth winger.

Etching Semenyo’s name on a Liverpool jersey would be difficult, as he has become one of the most sought-after players in England. After consistent performances over the past two campaigns with the Cherries, he has taken the next step in his development. And this season, he already has 6 goals and 3 assists in 8 Premier League appearances.

The Ghanaian international remains a top priority for the Reds, who might be preparing a significant bid in January. However, clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with him.
