After breaking their four-game losing streak in the Premier League last week against Aston Villa, Liverpool were once again unable  on the losing side against Manchester City as they suffered their fifth league defeat this season. It feels as if things couldn’t have been going much worse for the Reds at this moment.

Since Arne Slot took charge last season, his guidance has been exceptional. However, this year, things don’t seem to be the same. Although the Reds had one of the busiest transfer windows this summer, only a few signings have managed to make a real impact in improving the team’s performance. Moreover, some key players have not been able to perform at their best.

If these conditions persist, the hopes for a comeback to the top of the table will only diminish moving forward. With the winter transfer window now about two months away, it’s high time Liverpool start shortlisting  proven talents they could bring in to have an immediate impact.

Now according to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are flexible to offer a swap deal  exchanging Liverpool’s recent signing Florian Wirtz for their star forward Rodrygo.

Wirtz, one of Liverpool’s top summer signings, is undoubtedly an exceptional talent. However, he is still searching for his first goal in the Reds jersey despite appearing in 16 matches so far for the club. As a result the management could realistically consider the swap deal and sign Rodrygo who could be a perfect fit in Slot’s plans.

Rodrygo, naturally a left winger, is capable of playing in multiple attacking roles. With Mohamed Salah also struggling to find form this season, bringing in the Brazilian could provide the Reds with a strong alternative to fill his role in the future.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos are also said to be interested in two other Liverpool stars as well— Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai to strengthen their midfield options.

Nevertheless, Rodrygo is reportedly losing trust Xabi Alonso’s long-term project and could force his way out in the near future. So even if the swap deal doesn’t materialise, Liverpool could still manage to sign the player for a reasonable price tag under the right circumstances.
